Mathew I Triscott
November 24 1989 - December 06 2015 - Age 27
Obituary

Mathew was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina, where his mother was born and raised. He was surrounded by his loving grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also lived in St. Louis Missouri, Raleigh North Carolina, and Congers New York. He travelled to Australia with his family many times, where he got to know his beloved grandmother, his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was a bit of a shining light from early on, where some teachers appreciated his observations and interpretations, and others did not appreciate having their inconsistencies (correctly) pointed out by a 9 year old.

Mathew’s kindergarten and elementary schools were in North Carolina and Missouri, where he played tennis, swam, and got in as much skateboarding as humanly possible. He went to middle and high school in Congers NY, where he captained the tennis team (Rockland County doubles champions), was a member of a number of clubs, and was a close second for the ‘best hair’ superlative. He went to Tulane University in New Orleans where he achieved a cum laude undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master’s in microfluidics. The Dali Lama (along with Dr. John and Allen Toussaint) presided at his commencement. He has many friends all over the country from these chapters of his life, including his longtime girlfriend Jen, his oldest friend Luke, from our “beach relatives” the Hicks and Shogrys, and the brothers of Kappa Sigma.

Mathew enjoyed a combination of the arts and sciences. He is a talented self- taught guitar player, a very good writer, and we recently found out he can sing! He also has an engineering degree, and during his time at T2 Biosystems he gained many friends and was able to show an ability to teach himself new and relevant skills to help the team in building tools to better understand their systems.

Mathew died unexpectedly at home on December 6th. He is survived by his mother, E. Ann Knox Triscott, his father, Mark Triscott and his brother and best friend Shane, of Belmont, MA. He has uncles Adrian, Paul, Eddie and Jimmie, as well as aunts Mary, Elizabeth, Madeleine, Sylvia, and Sharon, from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Brisbane Australia. He has many cousins and second cousins all over the world including Singapore, England, Australia and the United States. His presence will be missed by all who knew him. This dude will abide, in our hearts and minds.

Visitation will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Saturday, December 12 from 2:00-5:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
