Obituary

Mary Kathleen Miller Potter passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Ogden Regional Medical Center.

Kathy was born on February 19, 1947 in Roosevelt, Utah a daughter of Arnold Giauque Miller and Nina Maretta Jenson Miller.

She graduated from Granite High School and Utah State University in Education. Kathy married her sweetheart Calvin D. Potter on September 6, 1968 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; serving in Young Women's Organization, Relief Society as a leader and teacher, Primary and Girls Camp leader.

One of her great joys in life was teaching children during her 42 years as an elementary school teacher. Even after retiring in 2013 with health issues, she returned in September 2015 to teaching part time.

Kathy enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially when she was able to visit them while they were living in Hawaii, Connecticut and North Carolina.

Surviving are her husband Calvin; children: Christopher L. (JaNell) Potter, East Hampton, CT; Nathan A. Potter, Brigham City, UT; Cameron L. (Wayne) Hansen, Greeley, CO; and nine grandchildren. Also Siblings: Arlene Johnson and Kevin Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brigham City 23rd Ward Chapel, 620 N. 300 E., Brigham City, UT. Viewings will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
