Fontello Brown
January 01 1955 - May 21 2016 - Age 61
Obituary

Fontello Brown was born on January 1, 1955 in Pascagoula MS to the late Nadine McInnis Brown and the late Morris Brown Jr. From the day he was born, until the day he departed, he lived a life that mattered. He departed this life peacefully on Saturday May 21, 2016, surrounded by family, after a battle with lung cancer.

He spent his childhood in Pascagoula, and after graduating from Pascagoula High School, he later began a career with FedEx. Fontello fulfilled a life-long dream of owning his own business when he founded Tropical World, a landscaping and residential construction business. He poured love, kindness and perfection in every home he built and every tree he planted. Integrity, high standards, hard work and good taste were the keys to his success. Fontello’s real and abiding passion was his children, family, friends, fine clothes and luxury cars. His family knew him as generous, and loving. His friends knew him as thoughtful yet strong willed, obstinate, and stubborn.

He was a living example of his favorite scripture. “All shall give as they are able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God that he has given you.” - Deuteronomy 16:17.

The relationship between Fontello and his children was one of the most important aspect of his life. Fontello was an example of how a man could have changed the future of America’s children if all fathers had the devotion and unconditional love he had for his children.

Cherishing his memory are his children, two sons Eric (Kelli) Brown, and Grant Brown; two daughters Ashley (Chris) Wilson, and Fallon Brown; a devoted friend and companion, Lawanda Johnson, who stayed by his side throughout his illness; two aunts, Velva (Bobbie) Couvson, and Gloria B. Harris; Brothers, Roscoe (Gaberilla) Brown, Leonard Thomas, Jacque McInnis, Rapheal (Wanda Gail) Brown, and Carlos Brown; Sisters, Sharon B. Thompson, Marilyn B. Minor, Wanda (Tyrone) Jefferson, Gloria Brown, Valerie Brown, Ruby Montgomery, Violetta Ardoin, and Monica Bailey; Four granddaughters and one grandson; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and long-time friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Morris Brown III, a sister Monique Bailey and a host of other beloved relatives.
