Carolyn Inez Mackey
January 12 1943 - August 28 2016 - Age 73

Carolyn Inez Mackey was called home to Heaven on August 28, 2016. Carolyn was born on January 12, 1943 in Harrison, AR, the fourth child of six to Rev. Corbett Crace and Inez Crace. Carolyn grew up in Arkansas and Nashville, TN. In 1963 her family moved to Visalia, CA. where her father was the pastor of First Assembly of God at Oak St. and Conyer. She met the love of her life William (Bill) Mackey and they were married June 12, 1964. God blessed them with a daughter Charise Martinez and son Todd Mackey. Carolyn worked along side her husband Bill at The Garden Nursery for 10 years overseeing their Rent-A-Plant business. She worked in the office at Visalia First Assembly for 15 years as an Administrative Assistant to Pastor Albert Padilla. Carolyn was Director of the Women’s Ministries in1995 for 5 years being responsible for starting many of the programs including “Girlfriend’s Night Out” which still exist today.

Carolyn and two of her sisters, Charlotte and Sue, sang as a trio and blessed many people with their music. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, in-law and faithful friend. Her family was the joy of her life and friends were special to her. God blessed her with a sweet gentle loving spirit and a good sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Corbett Crace. She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Mackey, daughter Charise (Ed) Martinez, son Todd (Dione) Mackey.

Grandchildren: Bryce (Ashley) Motl, Jonathan Motl, Mackenzie Motl, Katerina Mackey, Lily Mackey and great-grandchildren Kamryn and Aubrey Motl. Sisters: Janet (Ken) Ferrell of Pompano Beach, FL, June Scott, Visalia, Charlotte (Jack) Grinovich of Oklahoma City, OK, Sue (Ike) Gilmore of Albuquerque, NM, Brother Dan (Latricia) Crace, Nixa, MO., Brother-in-law Daryl (Jacque) Mackey of Visalia.

She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family relatives and many close friends.

There will be a viewing at the Salser and Dillard Funeral Home, 127 E. Caldwell on Thursday, Sept 1 from 4-8 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, Sept.2, 10:30 a.m. at the Visalia First Assembly, 3737 S. Akers. A reception will follow the service.

Visitation will be held at 4 PM till 7 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Visalia First Assembly of God.

A private graveside service will be held at 9 AM on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Visalia District Cemetery.
